Phew, I can take a breath for a second. I forgot to post this on Thursday once it went live. This is the last layout that I created for Sketchy Thursdays as their Guest Design Team Member. What a fun time it was being a part of such a great site for the month of July!! I am now looking forward to my month as a Guest Designer for Crafty Steals! My project materials are winging their way to me as we speak and I have a few ideas brewing so stay tuned!! All of the materials for the above layout are actually from a Scenic Route "steal" from Crafty Steals from about two weeks ago. If you haven't checked them out yet, make sure you do! And if you become their fan on Facebook, Stephanie will be giving a great coupon to all her fans once she hits a certain number...which number escapes me at the moment.
I wanted to thank all of you who have sent me emails and replied to my blog with well wishes and prayers for my mom. Unfortunately I don't really have anything to report. She is still in the hospital and we are waiting for the doctors to decide on the next step. They attempted an angioplasty yesterday but it was not successful so its up to the doctors to make the next move. What I didn't mention in my prior post is that my mom is not what you would call otherwise healthy. She is 72 years old. In November she was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. She fought valiantly and struggled through months of Chemotherapy and 30 days of radiation and seems to be winning that battle. She has COPD, terrible arthritis and CGH (Congestive Heart Failure). So while an angioplasty and/or bypass surgery is relatively routine these days, its not so with my mom. And that's what scares me the most. As I sit and type this I am watching the phone, waiting to hear from the doctors. So please, I am asking for all of your prayers and thoughts right now so that my mom comes through this ok and will be around for a long time to come!
On a better note, I am very much looking forward to this weekend! As some of you know, I am fairly active on the message board at A Cherry On Top. This weekend is their Summer Crop. I plan to scrap a lot Friday afternoon and evening but will miss most of Saturday. We will be in Wildwood at a company picnic for John's electricans union. It should be a lot of fun!! And then back to the crop on Sunday!! Here's to me finding my mojo again. I haven't had the umpf to scrap in weeks now.
